Run #24: Fulton to W. 44th, South of Lorain, North of I-90

This was an unexpectedly quaint section of Ohio City. Lorain Ave features some popular restaurants like Xinji , The Plum , Ohio City BBQ , Herb N' Twine and anchor Platform Brewery . The residential streets are a mix of small roadways, courts and alleys, many of which still have brick surfacing. Several old churches dot the neighborhood and there appears to be an active Hispanic population. Other notable items include Willet Street Cemetery (the oldest Jewish cemetery in the city); Greenwood Park (build in 1909 and recently renovated in 2017 , featuring a swimming pool); Orchard S.T.E.M. School ; Refugee Response ; the Catholic Worker's Storefront (a.k.a. The Drop ) and; Ohio City Glass .  I also crossed the bridge to the south and was able to run on a portion of the soon-to-be-completed Redline Greenway.  Interestingly, there was vacated pedestrian bridge that crossed the RTA tracks on W. 38th. It appears to have been vacated for decades and if I had to speculate, it probab

Run #23: W. 106 to W. 117 from Berea Rd to Belmont Ave

This was a shorter run that brought me to the city's northwestern border. Some cool features included Belmont Park, a small city park tucked away on the southern end of the neighborhood just before I-90. Several of the streets adjacent to the park still maintain their original brick surface. On W. 110 is the  Habitat for Humanity Cleveland ReStore ,a fantastic discount home improvement store which generates revenue for the organization's mission to provide affordable housing. At 10801 Madison Ave, renovation work was underway for a massive new 168,750 sqft Amazon distribution center . And nearby on W. 114, Scoot Craft Cold Brew was busy brewing up product for their popular growler fills. The veteran and women-owned business began in Seattle in 2016 and relocated to Cleveland (great article here ). This run concluded my time in Cudell. Run #22: West Blvd to W. 106, North to Berea Rd, South to Frontage

The most prominent landmark within this run was the Cudell Rec Center where Tamir Rice was tragically killed . There is a community memorial on the site but a more significant one will be built soon. The center/park is also home to the Cudell Clock Tower which was dedicated by the widow of renowned architect Frank Cudell  (the neighborhood's namesake ) in 1917 as a memorial. His home is also located on the western portion of the park and served as the first municipally-owned arts and crafts center in the nation. Also, one of the best neighborhood bars on the West Side if not all of Cleveland - Judd's City Tavern - is located at 10323 Madison Ave. Distance : 5.47 miles l  Time : 42:15 Total Distance : 102.57 miles l  Total Time : 13 hours 38 mins 55 sec Strava Recording
